| Description | Information Technology (IT) Specialist, Intuit, Microsoft Certified Fundamentals, and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications, are industry recognized certifications demonstrating one's tech proficiency to an employer or prospective college. IT Specialist certifications are geared towards IT professionals with tracks such as AI, software development, database administration, networking, security, coding, and mobility and device management. Intuit certifications validate one's accounting expertise in Intuit QuickBooks and bookkeeping. Microsoft Certified Fundamentals certifications are geared towards those starting a career in AI, data science, or cloud computing. MOS certifications validates one's tech knowledge in a Microsoft Office application.
The Seattle Public Library has partnered with Washington State Library to offer these certification exams free of charge to those that currently live, work or attend college in Washington State. Certification exams are available for:

We have free resources available to help you study:To request a testing slot: - Test takers must currently live, work or attend school in Washington State
- Request an in person testing date by clicking "Wait List." Your registration request will be reviewed and if a spot is available, you will receive a confirmation email. (Patrons whom have cancelled with less than 2 days notice for 3 or more exam sessions, will not be able to sign up until 1 week before the exam.)
- Create a free Certiport account.
- If someone fails a test, Certiport has a Retake Policy which indicates how soon someone can retest. Test takers whom are retaking an exam will also need to pass a GMetrix practice exam in "Testing" mode before signing up to retest (test takers can email a copy of the passing score report to Certifications@spl.org).
