Jargie the Science Girl: Gravity
Will it fall or will it float? Join Jargie as she challenges gravity and shares experiments you can try from home!



  • Age range: 4+ with parent
  • Items needed: Objects that are safe to drop, scratch paper/hair dryer, ping-pong ball, toilet paper tube


Jargie the Science Girl: Chemical Reactions
You know it’s going to be a good day if it starts with bubbles! Join Jargie as explores chemistry and shares some experiments you can try at home.



  •  Age range: 4+ with parent
  • Items needed:
    Carbon Dioxide: water and Alka-Seltzer tablets OR vinegar and baking soda, two cups, optional food coloring

    • o Inflating Balloon: water and Alka-Seltzer tablets OR vinegar and baking soda, an empty water bottle, a balloon
    • o Bag poppers: vinegar, baking soda, resealable plastic bag, a sink or outside space to do the experiment
    • o Foam volcanoes: large jar or glass, dish soap, baking soda, vinegar, spoon, optional food coloring




Jargie the Science Girl: Energy
Kick your potential up a notch- potential energy, that is! Join Jargie as she finds the energy all around us and shares some experiments you can try at home.



  • Age range: 4+ with parent


Items needed:



  • Catapult: wooden spoon, paper towel roll, two rubber bands, scratch paper, optional cup
  • Air molecules: empty water bottle, balloon, two cups, one of hot water and one of cold water


This program is part of this year’s Summer of Learning program Every Day is Earth Day!, which encourages reading and activities around science, technology, engineering, arts and math. This year Summer of Learning is a little different, but we still have plenty of activities to keep kids engaged, reading and learning all summer!
