SummaryWhat is a “URM” and why should you care?  Come to a lecture and discussion on unreinforced masonry buildings geared for the public and held during the URM Symposium
DescriptionLearn about how buildings respond to earthquakes and what the risks are for their occupants. Proactive building retrofit solutions range from simply bolting a house's frame to its foundation to more expensive and complex solutions for our most revered historic unreinforced masonry (URM) buildings.

Presented in partnership with Historic Seattle,  Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation, Association for Preservation Technology Northwest and University of Washington Center for Preservation and Adaptive Reuse.
