SummaryPeter Curtis talks about Pavel’s War, the third book of his trilogy The Dragontail Buttonhole, Cafe Budapest and Pavel’s War.
DescriptionThe first two novels of a WWII trilogy based on true events. Cafe Budapest is the winner of the Pacific Northwest Writers’ Association Nancy Pearl Historical Fiction Award September 2019.

The third novel, Pavel's War was published in November 2019.

In 1939, the Kohut family endures violence and exile, surviving with love and resilience as they escape Prague and cross Nazi-occupied Europe arriving in the London Blitz. As family bonds splinter, they struggle to adapt to wartime British society.

Peter Curtis has created an imaginative work based on true events in which the young Kohut family escapes the Nazi occupation of Prague and embarks on an odyssey—a journey that forever changes their lives.

Through his characters and descriptions Curtis vividly evokes the atmosphere and stresses of the time, assisted by his firm grasp and weaving of historical facts.—Jaroslav Bouček. PhDr.CSc, Historian, Prague
