DescriptionDavid Skover and Ronald Collins explore the relationship of "machine speech" and the development of artificial intelligence with free speech law. Is robotic expression "speech" within the meaning of the First Amendment. The authors address other questions such as the extent to which such speech should receive protection against governmental regulation.

Professor David Skover is the Fredric C. Tausend Professor of Constitutional Law at Seattle University School of Law.

This program is part of the Words, Writers & West Seattle author series which features writers connected to the Duwamish Peninsula. programs are held monthly on the second Thursday evenings. Books will be available for purchase. Presented in partnership with the Southwest Seattle Historical Society.
