BAND BIOS
Guayaba

"Like a demon-raising dragula chugging black blunt smoke and calling curses on colonizers, Guayaba is paving a singular lane and creating space for Afro-Latinx, queer, and fat people.

Aided by an otherworldly voice that defies gender binaries, the self-described “Northwest princesa con Cubana appeal” lurks the experimental outskirts of hip-hop, spitting bars in Spanglish over swinging Latin horns and writing lyrics packed with lush, gothic, and surrealistic imagery.

It took time for the Pacific Northwest’s insect queen to reign supreme; the metamorphosis that began in 2012 with omnichord videos posted to YouTube and early performances as Aeon Fux lead to a full length debut in 2016, the brujeria-and-psychedelia-laced Black Trash/White House.
Building on a strong local live following, the single “Bye Bich” was released earlier this year with a warning that the dark, powerful “Dark Meat Remix” diss wasn’t aimed at Bhad Bhabie, but rather “at the culture that created her.” -Lorena Cupcake

BEARAXE
Led Zeppelin meets Lead Belly. Rooted in prog-rock with a thunder of soul, Seattle band BEARAXE is a triumphant sweep of rebellion with a shot glass full of liberation. BEARAXE has been rocking dive bars across the Northwest since the summer of 2016 -- headlining shows at historic Seattle venues like The Central Saloon, Hardrock Cafe and Tractor Tavern -- all while merging their unique brand of storytelling with the low-lit grit of the Seattle grunge movement. Their debut EP “Last Call” is an unapologetically chaotic story of Black Feminism produced by Grammy award winning, rock and roll legend Jack Endino.
