SummaryJoin fellow book lovers to mix and mingle at the speakeasy-inspired bar high atop Seattle’s Smith Tower. No cover charge. This event is full.
DescriptionFind out what happens when a bunch of readers get together for drinks in Seattle’s most spectacular watering hole.
We know it’s tempting to curl up and read at home, but we think that you should venture out and join us this October 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a bookish cocktail hour at the Smith Tower Observatory bar overlooking Seattle and Puget Sound. Grab a beer or a cocktail and mingle with other book lovers, or just gaze at one of Seattle’s most inspiring views. Share what you’re currently reading and your favorite (or least favorite) books and authors. Bring a book, bring a friend, and don’t forget your photo ID.

This event is 21 and over, and drinks are on you. Admittance is free, but registration is required. Please help us to manage crowd size by RSVP’ing. For this night only, Smith Tower is waiving the usual ticket price for access to the Observatory and speakeasy-style bar. Bring your library card or know your library card number for the chance to win prizes. This event runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., so feel free to drop by anytime!

Located in the Observatory on the 35th floor of Seattle’s original Skyscraper, this prohibition era inspired bar overlooks the Puget Sound and Seattle region. It features an intriguing menu and craft cocktails that pay homage to Smith Tower’s rum-running roots and Chinese Room history.

This program is a part of Booktoberfest, our annual celebration of books, beer and good cheer taking place in bars and pubs across the Seattle. Join us for bookish happy hours, librarian-hosted trivia nights, spooky stories in bars and libraries, a Northwest literary survival kit, Karaoke, vampire movies and more!

Be on the lookout for our Booktoberfest Drink Coasters at all events, and at bars all across the city. This year’s coasters include a place to share what you’ve been reading with your fellow barmates, and via social media.
NotesThis event is 21 and over. Online registration is required. This event is free, although drinks and food are not.
