SummaryEnjoy the spooky stories of Ray Bradbury, for adults and older kids, after hours at the Capitol Hill Branch.
DescriptionThis Booktoberfest, enjoy the tales of a master storyteller who grew up in libraries and had to be forced out at closing time: Ray Bradbury. In honor of Ray, we’ll open our doors after closing and invite you to gather around and journey with us to the twilit world of Bradbury’s October Country. This even is part of LitCrawl Seattle. Can’t make it? Join us for Thrilling Tales After Dark at the Central Library on Monday, October 22 at 7 p.m., for a reading of Ray Bradbury’s “The Whole Town’s Sleeping.” If you’re 21 or over, join us for ‘Ales from the Crypt (Oct 23 at Optimism Brewing, Oct 30th at Lottie’s Lounge) and Ghastly Tales and Cocktails (Oct 25 at The Conservatory, and Oct 29 at Naked City Taphouse).

This program is a part of Booktoberfest, our annual celebration of books, beer and good cheer taking place in bars and pubs across the Seattle. Join us for bookish happy hours, librarian-hosted trivia nights, spooky stories in bars and libraries, a Northwest literary survival kit, karaoke, vampire movies and more!

Be on the lookout for our Booktoberfest Drink Coasters at all events, and at bars all across the city. This year’s coasters include a place to share what you’ve been reading with your fellow barmates, and via social media.
NotesRegistration is not required. This event is free, and all are welcome! The library will close at 8 p.m, and then reopen a few minutes later.
