SummaryLaura Da' presents a free class for poets, songwriters, and anyone who wants to write more effectively.
DescriptionExplore the wide world of rhythm and words in this class, which will introduce you to all the possibilities of poetry. We’ll read, we’ll write, and we’ll all leave as poets. This class is for beginning poets as well as experienced poets needing inspiration and space to explore.

Laura Da’ is a poet and a public school teacher. A lifetime resident of the Pacific Northwest, Da’ studied creative writing at the University of Washington and The Institute of American Indian Arts. "Tributaries," her poetry collection, won the 2016 American Book Award from the Before Columbus Foundation and was a finalist for the Washington State Book Award last year.
Class NotesLibrary events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required for this writing class, but seating is limited. Seating will be on a first come, first seated basis. Doors to the meeting room will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the class. We’ll try our best to accommodate all interested writers, but students may be turned away if the room is filled to capacity. Due to the fire code, we cannot exceed the maximum capacity for our rooms.

Please bring a pen/pencil and paper or fully-charged laptop to each class.

Seattle Writes supports local writers through programs, workshops, write-ins, and by providing spaces to work throughout the city.

The Seattle Writes series is made possible with the generous support of The Seattle Public Library Foundation. Find more Seattle Writes programs and resources here.
